The problem
The current state of our oceans cause many animals and ecosystems harm due to the influx of plastic products used and placed in the ocean in the last century. Although they are not the only animals affected turtles and dolphins are two of the many species that face challenges every day due to our methods of disposal. It is our job to look at the effect we have on their way of life and how our decisions don't only affect us personally.
It could be a plastic food container, a non-reusable water bottle, or even a plastic button off your clothing; all of these items and more are often improperly disposed of and end up in the ocean. While it is hard to believe, the longer we go on like this, the more rapidly the ocean will become uninhabitable and will lose all signs of life that we all know and love.
These animals live their lives with no knowledge of what plastic is or where it comes from. This also means they have no idea how the increasing amount is causing detrimental affects to their ecosystems and the potential longevity of their lives.

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE EFFECT OF PLASTIC
(Graphic Images not suggested for younger viewers)
These images are just a few of the life-threatening cases that marine animals endure due to man-made plastic in the ocean. Many of these animals do not have the mental ability to understand what plastic is and how it can potentially hurt them but also the physical capability to rid themselves of harmful plastics. The truth of the matter is if these images do not disturb you, you're not looking.
As people it is our job to find a better way of disposing of our trash as well as a better product that is biodegradable and recyclable. These pictures, while graphic, are meant to open up people's eyes to how our actions hurt others, it is everyone's job to pitch in to correct the mistakes humanity has made in regards to the ocean. What I have learned is that, it is no one specific person's fault, we are all to blame for the danger these animals are in. Therefore, it is all of our jobs to right our wrongs and to try and clean up and return the ocean to what it once was.
